Cette photographie prise le 8 mars 1941 montre Joseph-Armand Bombardier et son frère Léopold Bombardier se préparant à faire l'essai d'un mécanisme nouveau, un véhicule tout chenille pendant que quelques personnes examinent l'appareil. C'est le train arrière du prototype de l'autoneige B12 dont Joseph-Armand Bombardier voulait éprouver la résistance avant de compléter l'appareil.
À cette occasion, Joseph-Armand et Léopold firent le voyage aller et retour à Waterloo, soit près de 40 milles.
On peut également voir une partie de l'usine de L'Auto-Neige Bombardier.
